Louisiana state flag

Louisiana flag was first adopted in 1912 and later modified in 2010.The Louisiana flag has more pelicans than any other state flag. The flag has a mother pelican and three pelican chicks and a shape of a fleur-de-lis. The flag was based on a design from 1800. In the early version of the flag,  the mother pelican was tearing into her own flesh in order to feed her chicks. The new design has three drops of blood feeding the chicks.
