Montana state flag was adopted in 1905.The Montana state flag is simply made of the name of the state and the state seal on a blue background. It was considered to be among the nation’s worst designed flag by the North American Vexillological Association. The tastless design was chosen by Colonel Kessler. He was the head of the First Montana Infantry, and the flag design was adopted by the state legislature in 1905.
